History: Japan's "Government-general Administration" in Korea
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- The "government-general administration", enforced by Japan after its occupation of Korea, was the most brutal rule aimed to exterminate the Korean nation.

In August 1910, the Japanese imperialists cooked up the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" by force, declaring that the "government-general administration" would be enforced from October 1.

They nominated Terauchi, a die-hard warlordist, to the "governor-general" and gave him an unlimited power to hold sway over Korea.

And they set up their repressive organs in all parts of Korea to cruelly crack down the anti-Japanese struggle of the Korean people at bayonets.

From the very days of the "government-general administration" in Korea, the Japanese imperialists had arrested or killed inhabitants at random, under the motto "Koreans had to either obey Japan's law or die," and pillaged the resources, cultural heritages and relics of Korea by instituting various evil laws.

They even attempted to erase the Koreans' mother tongue and names.

Due to the oppressive rule of the Japanese imperialists, more than one million innocent Koreans were killed, over 8.4 million young and middle-aged people taken away as war cannons and slave laborers and 200,000 women forced to serve as sexual slaves.

It is a legal and moral obligation of Japan, a war criminal state, to make apology and compensation for such hideous crimes.
