S. Korean Authorities Urged to Stop Autopsy of Paek Nam Gi's Body

| Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- A member of the emergency measures committee of the Kukmin Party of south Korea at the "National Assembly" on September 30 requested the authorities and the UN secretary general to accept the assertion of a UN special rapporteur opposing the autopsy of peasant Paek Nam Gi's body by police. The special rapporteur on September 28 denounced the prosecution and police of south Korea for attempting to conduct autopsy of Paek's body and urged the authorities to respect the intention of the bereaved family opposing the autopsy. He said the authorities should hold the assailant responsible for the death and make proper compensation to the bereaved family. He hoped that Ban Ki-moon would take a responsible stand as UN secretary general. He demanded the prosecution and police halt the act of killing the peasant twice by making autopsy of his body all of a sudden. |
