Cycling March of Koreans in China for Reunification Starts

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- A cycling march for reunification of the Chinese regional preparatory committee for the joint meeting of the political parties, organizations and individual personages in the north, the south and abroad for peace and independent reunification of the Korean peninsula started on Tuesday on the ninth anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration.

A kick-off ceremony was held before the Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification.

Present there were officials concerned, working people in Pyongyang and a group of cyclists for reunification of the above-said Chinese regional preparatory committee.

The speakers said whoever has blood and soul of the Korean nation should uphold the great programme for reunification common to the nation provided by the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu, stressing that no matter how desperately the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad may work, they can't block the march of the compatriots for national reunification.

After leaving Pyongyang amid the warm send-off of the masses, the group of cyclists arrived at Panmunjom that day via various areas.

They had a meeting for peace and independent reunification of the Korean peninsula before Phanmun Pavilion.

Prior to this, the participants laid bunches of flowers and paid tribute to the monument to the autograph of President Kim Il Sung standing at Panmunjom.

The speakers said that the Korean nation is undergoing bitter pain and misfortune resulting from the division caused by outside forces, noting that this march launched in Pyongyang came to a halt due to the cursed barrier dividing this land.

They expressed the will to intensify the struggle for peace and independent reunification of the country till the day when fireworks celebrating reunification are displayed over the land after foreign forces are driven out of Korea.

Witnesses and victims of the group allurement and abduction perpetrated by the south Korean puppet group of traitors condemned them for trumpeting about "volunteer defection".

They termed it another base move to hide the truth behind the crime and escape public criticism of it and domestic and foreign pressure upon the criminals.

They demanded the Park Geun Hye group kneel down and apologize to all Koreans and the conscience of the world and send the abductees back to their homeland at once.

An appeal to all Koreans was published at the meeting.
