The appeal said the Chinese regional preparatory committee of the joint meeting made the cycling journey for peace and independent reunification of the Korean peninsula on the ninth anniversary of the October 4 declaration but it was not linked to the south via Panmunjom.

It is a great disgrace of the Korean nation that has lived in the same land with a time-honored history spanning five thousand years still remains as the only divided nation on the earth, becoming a pronoun of confrontation and war, the appeal noted.

It called for successfully holding the nationwide great meeting for reunification at any cost and opening a wide avenue to independent reunification.

It called upon all the Koreans to advance under the unfurled banner of national independence and great national unity.

It also called upon all the Koreans in the north, the south and abroad to turn out to drive the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces out of south Korea, provide a blue sky of eternal peace over the three thousand-ri and resolutely oppose the present south Korean authorities' heinous policy of escalating conformation with the compatriots.

Noting that the Chinese regional preparatory committee for the joint meeting will more valiantly struggle till the day when it will cycle from Pyongyang to Seoul, shouting hurrah for reunification, the appeal stressed that no one can block the advance of the Koreans who have turned out in the nationwide great march for reunification.
