A ceremony of unveiling the statues was held on Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Ki Nam and others, officials of North Hwanghae Province and Kaesong city and those concerned, officials of units who contributed to erecting the statues, those of merits, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, working people, youths and students.

The statues were unveiled by leading officials of the party, state and army and those in North Hwanghae Province and Kaesong City.

Laid before the statues was a floral basket in the name of Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Also laid before the statues were a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK and a floral basket in the name of the Kaesong citizens.

Placed there were floral baskets in the names of the party and power bodies, working people's organizations, institutions, enterprises, factories, farms and universities in the province and the city and units of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces.

The participants paid tribute to the great leaders before their statues.

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, made an unveiling address.

He said:

Kaesong City, once backward consumption city in the past, has turned into a city of modern light industry and a city of huge historical and cultural assets and where great change has taken place in the people's living. This would be unthinkable apart from the wise guidance of the great leaders who made ceaseless journey of patriotic devotion all their lives.

The speaker called upon all the service personnel and other people to dynamically advance to build a powerful socialist country, reunify the country and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche, united closer around Kim Jong Un, while always looking up to the sunny image of the great leaders.
