Anniversary of October 4 Declaration Marked by Koreans in U.S.

| Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Koreans in the U.S. held a ceremony to mark the ninth anniversary of the October 4 declaration on Oct. 2 under the sponsorship of the New York Regional Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration. Kim Tae Chang, chairman of the regional committee, in an opening address called for invariably keeping the viability of the reunification movement. There screened a video showing the days when the historic declaration was published in October, 2007. Then, "Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity" was read out. A congratulatory message from the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and addresses of solidarity from the South Side Committee and the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration were introduced. At the end of the ceremony there took place an event for peaceful reunification of the Korean peninsula. |
