ASEAN Committee in DPRK Donates Aid-Fund to Flood-hit Areas of North Hamgyong Province
Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The ASEAN Committee in the DPRK recently donated aid-fund to the sites for recovering from flood damage in the northern part of North Hamgyong Province.

Present at the donation ceremony were ambassadors of its member nations Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos and Cambodia in the DPRK.

The Malaysian ambassador to the DPRK who is chairman of the ASEAN Committee conveyed the aid-fund to Ri Kil Song, vice foreign minister of the DPRK, on behalf of the committee.

The Malaysian ambassador expressed deep consolation and sympathy over the big human and material losses caused by the recent flood in the northern part of North Hamgyong Province, sincerely hoping that the living of the people in the flood-hit areas would return to normal as early as possible.

Ri Kil Song expressed deep thanks to the ASEAN Committee for donating aid-fund and informed the ambassadors of the facts that the whole Party and army and all people of the DPRK have turned out as one in the rehabilitation drive in hearty response to the order of supreme leader Kim Jong Un who defined the recovery from the flood damage as the main thrust of the 200-day campaign and that many foreign countries and international bodies are taking an active part in rendering aid on the principle of humanitarianism.

He recalled that of late the U.S. is driving a wedge in the relations favorably developing between the DPRK and Asian countries and working hard to mislead the fair international opinion.

He clarified the principled stand of the DPRK on the despicable moves of the U.S. and south Korean puppet forces to make those countries friendly to the DPRK downgrade the level of diplomatic relations or sever the official ties, frightened by the tremendous political and military might of the DPRK which is daily growing stronger.

He called upon Asian countries to heighten vigilance against the hostile forces' plots and intrigues and referred to the issue of developing bilateral relations with the DPRK with a long history and tradition.

The ambassadors of the member nations of the ASEAN Committee in the DPRK said they came to have better understanding of its stand of resolutely opposing the U.S. ever more escalating sanctions and moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK. They shared the view that any country's act of forcing sovereign states to comply with its unilateral demand is absolutely intolerable as it wantonly violates the sovereign states' sovereignty and equality and principle of non-interference in their internal affairs.
