Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Alexandr Vorontsov, chief of the section for Korea and Mongolia of the Institute of Oriental Studies of Russian Academy of Sciences, visited the DPRK from October 1 to 6. During his visit he laid a bouquet before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and paid tribute to them. He met officials of the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of External Economic Relations, Academy of Social Sciences and Kim Il Sung University and exchanged opinions and went round the construction site of Ryomyong Street, National House of Class Education, Pyongyang Orphans' Secondary School, Jangchon Vegetable Co-op Farm and the Central Zoo. He said that everything is going well as the Korean people are led by the great leaders through generations. He admired the change of Pyongyang in six months since his previous visit in March this year. Witnessing the grand structures and the people full of vigor, he said the reality proved that Korea's orientation has been always right and showed the might of the DPRK achieving successes by dint of single-minded unity between the leader and the people. The future of the DPRK with single-minded unity is rosy, he said, and went on: It is a clear fact that sanctions do not work on the DPRK. The U.S. and south Korean authorities say that the purpose of sanctions is to make the DPRK "give up going nuclear" but its nuclear force is becoming stronger. The reason that the DPRK is steadily bolstering up national defence is understandable by everyone. The sinister intention of sanctions of the U.S. and south Korean authorities is to stifle the DPRK. However, it is out of question that sanctions would not work on the DPRK whose people have achieved single-minded unity with the leader. World people know well who shut down the Kaesong Industrial Zone and who opposed dialogue. Contrary to the behavior of the south Korean authorities, there are many people in south Korea who sincerely hope for inter-Korean dialogue and improvement of the north-south relations. Everything will go well in the DPRK where the leader and people are united in single mind, in the future, too, and the unyielding Korean people will achieve only victories despite any sanctions and pressure. |
