Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK Friday sent a message of greeting to the meeting of educators of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) for marking the 70th anniversary of the enforcement of the general secondary education of Koreans in Japan. The message said that the enforcement of the general secondary education of Koreans in Japan was a historic event that made it possible to transform into a reality the ardent desire of Koreans in Japan to let their children learn the Korean language, history and culture and to firmly carry forward the lifeline of the Juche-oriented Korean movement in Japan by bringing up the new generations as patriotic talents, virtuous and knowledgeable. It went on: During the past period, officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan won the right to national education, achieved national unity of compatriots from all walks of life centered on the school, brought up the new generations to be ardent patriots contributing to the country and the nation and reliable successors to patriotic cause, thereby setting the world's shining example in the education of overseas compatriots despite harsh suppression and persistent obstructions by the reactionaries at home and abroad. Officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan should fulfill the sacred duty of guaranteeing the eternal foundation of patriotic cause of Chongryon, while regarding the work of democratic and national education as the lifeline and mainstay for the movement of Koreans in Japan. Expressing belief that the meeting will be brilliantly recorded as a historic one that would usher in a new heyday of national education by thoroughly embodying supreme leader Kim Jong Un's idea of attaching importance to education and talents in the overall work of national education, the message wished the meeting success in its work. |
