Story about Kim Il Sung's Patriotism
|
|
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- In every October the Korean people recall a story about fork to Mangyongdae in Pyongyang, the birthplace of President Kim Il Sung. It was on October 9, Juche 34 (1945) that the President passed the fork to Mangyongdae to visit the then Kangson Steel Plant after Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule. At the fork, Kim Il Sung asked an official to call at his native home instead and convey his best regards to his grandparents, saying that twenty years has passed since he left his native home at Mangyongdae for the national liberation. Ardently requested to drop in even for a moment, he stressed that to build a new country is more urgent than to visit the native home and left for the steel plant to encourage its workers in the efforts to rehabilitate it. He visited his birthplace after founding the Workers' Party of Korea and making his first speech on triumphant return at a meeting with the people in homeland. |
