Remodeling Project of Kim Il Sung Stadium Completed
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- The Kim Il Sung Stadium has been successfully remodeled at the foot of picturesque Moran Hill in Pyongyang.

The stadium has more than 40,000 seats, football ground covered with new man-made lawn, entrance hall for players, FIFA office, referees room, coach room, interview room, dope check room, treatment room and scientific and technological dissemination room and other modern sports and cultural and welfare facilities and service amenities.

It can host not only state political and cultural events and international and domestic sports games but also sports activities and cultural and emotional life of working people and school youth and children.

A ceremony of its completion took place Sunday.

Present there were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Ki Nam and others, officials of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), members of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, builders of the army and society who took part in the remodeling project, officials, sportspersons and employees of the sports field and the stadium and working people, youth and students in Pyongyang.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, addressed the ceremony.

He said that the stadium which has been remodeled under the WPK's plan of building a sports power is the sports center for the people built as a monumental edifice thanks to the initiative and energetic guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

He called on the officials and employees of the stadium to meticulously organize its management so that the loving care of the Party would reach the sportspersons and working people more effectively.

There was a football match between the April 25 Team and the Hwaebul Team.
