Present there on invitation were a vice-minister of Development of Far East, the roving ambassador of the Foreign Ministry, the chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK and other Russian personages.

The DPRK ambassador to Russia and his embassy officials were on hand.

The vice-minister of Development of Far East said in his speech that the DPRK and Russia are close neighbors and have carried forward solid ties of friendship and good-neighborliness for a long period.

He went on:

The establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries opened the way for steadily developing the multifaceted and mutually beneficial relations of friendship and cooperation.

The two countries have made great progress in cooperation between the governments, regions, organizations and institutions.

We are ready to make close cooperation for peace and security of the Korean peninsula and the region.

We wish the Korean people greater success in all fields and happiness and prosperity.
