S. Korean Civic and Public Organizations Support Strike of Workers

| Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- The April 16 Solidarity, Public Traffic Network, Civic and Public Joint Action for Strengthening Public Nature and Checking Forcible Dismissal according to Piece Rate, Transport Industrial Council of the Public Transport Workers Trade Union and other organizations in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Oct. 11 supporting the general strike of railway and freight workers, according to a report. At the press conference speakers said 12,319 persons were killed due to freight traffic accidents over the past ten years because of long-hour labor. They charged that there is no security of the people as long as there is the exploitation by the regime and plutocrats lending no ear to the voices of the railway and freight workers calling for ensuring the people's security. They called for building a society where workers are happy and the people are stable. |
