Leader Kim Jong Il founded the brass band on October 17, Juche 85 (1996) and guided four concerts and gave more than a hundred of teachings, indicating all issues arising in the activities of the brass band ranging from its mission and duty to the principle of creation, methods of rendition and the issues of selecting conductors and players and training reserves.

Over the past two decades since its founding, the brass band has been strengthened into the militant art organization fully demonstrating the might of the revolutionary military music through Korean-style genuine and dynamic brass playing under the guidance of the Party and the leader, and recorded its proud history.

A meeting marking the anniversary took place on Sunday.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), officials concerned and officials, creators, artistes and employees of the brass band.

A congratulatory message sent by the C.C., the WPK to the creators and artistes of the Women's Brass Band of the KPISF was conveyed at the meeting.
