National Symposium on Medical Science Held

| Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- A national symposium on medical science was held at the Grand People's Study House on Oct. 18 and 19 to mark the fifth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's work "On Giving Full Play to the Advantages of the Socialist Public Health System by Bringing about a Revolutionary Turn in the Public Health Work". Attending it were officials concerned, medical officials, scientists, teachers and researchers in the field of public health. It was divided into panels of hygienic and anti-epidemic, surgery, internal medicine, basic medicine, pharmacy and Koryo medicine. It heard many papers on medical science. The speakers recalled that Kim Jong Il published the work on Oct. 7, Juche 100 (2011), comprehensively indicating the ways to bring about a great turn in public health. In recent years, various healthcare centers have been successfully built to consolidate the material and technical foundation of the field of public health and fully demonstrate the advantages of the socialist healthcare system whereby the party and the state take care of the people's life and health in a responsible manner, they stressed. The symposium introduced successes and experience gained in the field of medical science and technology researches. |
