Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. of Snubbing S. Korean People's No-THAAD Petition

Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- Recently, the White House released a "message" in reply to the petition signed by more than 100 000 netizens reflecting the No-THAAD sentiments of Koreans in the south and abroad. In the "message" the U.S. blustered that it would make sure that THAAD would be deployed at the earliest date, touting "counteraction against nuclear and missile threat" from someone and the "will to defend" south Korea. Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says: The above-said message once again revealed the brigandish design of the U.S. to make south Korea fall victim to its hegemonic strategy and its permanent colony by deploying THAAD at any cost. The deployment of THAAD in south Korea is a risky provocation wrecking peace and stability and escalating the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and in other parts of Northeast Asia. It is, at the same time, another source of an arms race among nuclear powers and a new Cold War. What lashes the Koreans into fury is the behavior of the Park Geun Hye group of traitors. They are getting desperate in the treacherous moves for the deployment of THAAD, keeping the north-south ties in the worst catastrophe and inflicting untold pain upon south Koreans through the frantic confrontation with the compatriots in the north while remaining utterly indifferent to the destiny of the nation. Keen on sycophancy toward the U.S. and confrontation with the compatriots in the north, traitor Park is working with bloodshot eyes to get THAAD deployed in south Korea in order to realize her wild ambition to invade the north in collusion with her U.S. master by pleasing him even at the sacrifice of all south Koreans. The U.S. and south Korean puppet regime's deployment of THAAD would only trigger off strong resistance of the south Korean people, give momentum to the DPRK's further bolstering of nuclear deterrent for self-defence and thus precipitate their final doom. |
