Spring Waters Listed as Natural Monuments

Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Masikryong and Taehwabong spring waters, now popular among citizens of the DPRK, have been recently listed as natural monuments of the country. The Masikryong Spring Water gushes out from the bottom of a mountain standing opposite to the skiing course of Masikryong Ski Resort in Kangwon Province. This mildly alkaline water, found in August 2013, is 8.5 degrees Celsius in temperature and 7.2 in pH value. It is good for human health and longevity as it contains calcium, kalium and other mineral matters and its degree of association is low. The Taehwabong Spring Water discovered in 1974 is also a health drink with high medicinal value. Its temperature is 9.5 degrees Celsius and its yield per hour 3-3.2 cubic meters. It is also mildly alkaline water, 7.2 in pH value. This water contains kalium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and other mineral matters and it is good for the promotion of digestion and prevention of aging. |
