Participants in Seventh Congress of GFTUK Visit Mangyongdae

Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The participants in the Seventh Congress of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) visited Mangyongdae, the birthplace of President Kim Il Sung. They laid bouquets before the graves of Kim Po Hyon and Ri Po Ik and the graves of Kim Hyong Jik and Kang Pan Sok and observed a moment's silence. After visiting the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum they went to the old home in Mangyongdae. Looking round historical relics preserved in the thatched house, they grasped the revolutionary career of the President. They visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong. They laid bouquets before the bust of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and made bows to her before going round the cemetery. They also visited the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum. They made bows to the statue of the President waving back to the columns of the military parade at the square for celebrating the victory in the war. They laid bouquets before the sculpture "Victory" in the Monument to the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War and paid tribute to the victors of the great years before going round several rooms of the museum. They toured the Phyongchon Revolutionary Site, the historic site associated with the Fatherland Liberation War, the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery, the Sci-Tech Complex and the National House of Class Education. They planted trees at the Arboretum of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun and the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site. |
