Youths Play Key Role in Recovery Efforts
Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- Young people of the DPRK have turned out in a drive to restore the flood-hit areas of North Hamgyong Province.

Kye Ung Sang Agricultural College under Kim Il Sung University and Technological College of Hwangbuk University dispatched the youth agitation troupe and brass band to the Sangwon Cement Complex to inspire its workers to the increased production.

In Nampho City, schoolchildren launched the art squad and brass band activities encouraging the steel production.

The young employees at various units under the Ministry of Railways took the lead in the transportation of freights through a socialist emulation movement.

Meanwhile, at least 70 000 youths from across the country volunteered to take part in the recovery effort in disaster areas.

The members of youth shock brigades including the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade have worked admirable feats in the housing construction and the restoration of damaged railways in flood-hit North Hamgyong Province.

The youths at industrial establishments across the country, too, are playing a leading role in the production of building materials and consumer goods needed for the recovery efforts in the disaster areas.
