Highest Yield of Cocoons in Jagang Province

Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- Jagang Province of the DPRK has recorded the highest yield in sericulture this year by producing several hundred more tons of cocoons as against last year, the peak year in production.

Through a drive to put the sericulture on a scientific basis, the province turned out 5,000 more tons of mulberry leaves than last year. In particular, the farms in Songgan, Chosan and Jonchon counties produced one more ton of mulberry leaves per hectare.

Jagang Province is famous for sericulture in the country.
