In this regard, Kim Won Sam, head of a department of the college, told KCNA:

The training center, run in cooperation with the World Health Organization, gives a three-month course twice a year, with an aim to improve the practical ability of epidemiological officials throughout the country and put the information service on a scientific basis.

The course is conducted on the basis of curriculum set by the WHO and in combination with the work to perfect the country's general system of monitoring diseases.

Its subjects include epidemiology, life statistics and health information science.

The DPRK has directed big efforts to putting in-service training of health officials on a normal basis.
