Sci-tech Achievements Made in Improving People's Standard of Living

Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- Universities in the DPRK have made sci-tech achievements in improving the people's standard of living. Taking the lead in it is Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry. A research group of the university played a big role in putting the production of bag cloth on a normal basis by upgrading the flexible rapier looms at the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill. The group is now pushing ahead at the final stage with the work to introduce the high-temperature, high-pressure roller dyeing machine in all textile mills across the country. Researchers of the university established the soya yogurt production process and developed 10-odd new products at the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory. They also succeeded in automating the candy production process at the Kumkop General Foodstuff Factory for Sportspersons and have made contributions to the establishment of different production processes and modernization of mushroom processing at the Ryugyong Pickle Factory. |
