National Heritage Protection Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- A vigorous work is going on in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to protect the national heritage. In recent months the Kanggye and Haeju history museums were renovated and historical relics displayed on a fresh style at history museums in provinces of the country. Meanwhile, a work was conducted to preserve to their original state more than 20 historical sites in different parts of the country, including Hunryon Pavilion in Phyongwon County, Pothong Gate and Popun Temple. Songun Ryongrim Lake was turned into a beauty spot and goshawk, the national bird, Kwangpho duck and Masikryong Spring Water were listed as natural monuments of the country. Also, an inorganic red-and-blue paints and coating materials were developed to well preserve old fine art pieces and remains, and a distribution chart of Korea's main historical sites, scenic spots and natural monuments was worked out on a scientific basis. And such rules were adopted as the enforcement regulations of the Law on the Protection of National Heritage and the Law on the Protection of Scenic Spots and Natural Monuments to conduct the national heritage protection on a nationwide scale. |
