Jozef Servista, deputy general secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party and vice-chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to widely organize political and cultural events praising the immortal revolutionary life and feats of Kim Jong Il on the fifth anniversary of his demise.
