New Strains of High-yield Crops Cultivated in DPRK

| Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Agricultural Science in the DPRK has recently bred new strains of high-yield crops suitable to alpine regions in the northern part of the country. The new crop strains include potato, spring wheat, corn and beans. Those potato and wheat strains, to be cultivated in the region of 1000-1400 meters above sea level, are resistant to germs and their yield per hectare is considerably high. The researchers also established a technique for cultivating corn and bean in the alpine region. |
