Fairouz Mousa, director of the Higher Education Department of the Regional Leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party of Syria, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set the remembrance period from November 10 to December 17 and decided to launch publicity campaign praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and hold diverse political and cultural events.
