Mothers of DPRK Blessed by Great Persons
Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- November 16 is Mother's Day in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

With the day as an occasion, all sons and daughters across the country are extending warm greetings to their mothers who have devoted themselves to bringing up their children and helping their husbands to be loyal to the socialist motherland.

When socialist construction was going on in the country after the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953), President Kim Il Sung made sure that the first national meeting of mothers was convened. And he personally attended the meeting to give a high appreciation of ardent patriotism and humanity displayed by the mothers, who readily sent their husbands and sons and daughters to the war and brought up orphans with parental affection and worked feats in the postwar rehabilitation.

Leader Kim Jong Il attached importance to the mothers' role in preparing the younger generations to be reliable successors to the revolutionary cause of Juche and had guided them to do a great thing for the good of the country and people, the society and the collective.

And he showed warm love for the mothers, saying that admirable children are reared by good mothers.

Under his loving care, a large contingent of women revolutionaries had emerged in the country, among them Choe Jong Ok at the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine, Kim Kwi Sun at the Wonsan Knitwear Factory and Ri Myong Suk living in Rangnang District, Pyongyang, who have devoted their all to the country's prosperity, the assistance to servicepersons and the bringing up of orphans.

Supreme leader Kim Jong Un, who is creditably carrying forward the intention of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, saw to it that Mother's Day was instituted and the fourth national meeting of mothers was convened.

Today mothers in the DPRK harden their will to invariably advance along the road of independence, Songun (military-first) and socialism guided by Kim Jong Un with high pride of being blessed by the great leaders through generations.
