Mother's Day Marked in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- Service personnel and people of the DPRK significantly marked the Mother's Day.

Mothers across the country the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, sacred temple of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il lie in state, and the statues and portraits of the smiling great leaders on Mansu Hill and in their residential quarters before laying floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statues and portraits and paying tribute to the great leaders.

They also visited statues of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and in Kim Jong Suk County and Hoeryong City to recall her revolutionary career.

Art performances were given in Pyongyang, provinces, cities and counties.

The revolutionary opera "Victory of the Revolution Is in Sight" was given at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre.

Musical dance and poem "'Arirang' Story" was given at the Ponghwa Art Theatre, drama "Blood Vessel" at the National Theatre, circus performance and magic performance at the Pyongyang Circus Theater and the National Circus.

Artistes in North Phyongan, South Hwanghae, North Hwanghae and Jagang provinces and other places gave performances.

Women scientists and teachers living in apartment houses for educators of Kim Il Sung University, Mirae Scientists Street and Unha Scientists Street were very pleased to receive congratulatory bouquets from their children and disciples.

Greeting cards from sons and daughters at posts defending the country and stirring socialist construction sites were conveyed to their mothers.

Okryu Restaurant, Chongryu Restaurant and other public catering establishments across the country warmly served mothers.
