Rodong Sinmun Slams Japan for Rushing Headlong into Revival of Militarism

Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, Kyodo News conducted opinion poll across Japan on the lapse of seven decades since the promulgation of the existing Constitution. Absolute majority of respondents strongly opposed the revision of the Constitution being pressed forward by the Abe regime. A few days later, there took place a meeting in Aomori in protest against the dispatch of the Ground "Self-Defense Force" to south Sudan. Rodong Sinmun Friday in a commentary says that this reflected the uneasiness of Japanese and their urgent requirement. It goes on: The Japanese authorities' claim that the revision of the Constitution and the dispatch of the SDF overseas are aimed to "make a contribution to ensuring the national security and global peace" so as to cope with the complicated surrounding situation and the world situation is sheer sophism. Such word as peace does not suit Japan. The Japanese authorities are making serious mockery of their people by paying lip-service to "peace." They are hiding their rash act of rushing headlong into the revival of militarism, dreaming of the era of the Empire in the past with the veil of "peace." Lurking behind their frequent dispatch of the SDF overseas under the pretext of the "UN peace-keeping activities" defying their people's opposition is a sinister aim to easily attain their purpose of overseas aggression by making the world familiar with it and putting it on a regular basis to blindfold the world. It is by no means accidental that the Japanese people are becoming increasingly vocal opposing the revision of the Constitution and the dispatch of the SDF overseas as they may to bring a horrible disaster to Japan. The Japanese authorities had better think twice about the serious consequences to be entailed by their action, if they have reasonable thinking and are concerned about the security of the country and their people even a bit. |
