Present there were Jang Pyong Thae, rector of Korean University, Kang Song Un, vice-president in charge of the Center for Korean Studies of the university, Sin Phil Yong, chairperson of the U.S. Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, Rim Chun Song, vice-chairman of the Federation of Koreans in the U.S., Kim Su Hae, chairman of the Federation of Koreans in Canada, and other delegates of overseas Koreans organizations, professors, researchers, students of universities of various countries and regions including Japan and other overseas Koreans.

Educational workers of Korean University including Jang Pyong Thae recalled that the university has conducted the work of national education with a system of higher education based on independent educational contents and methods in a foreign country since its foundation on April 10, 1956.

They stressed that the university will as ever proactively contribute to the patriotic movement.

The participants told about the history and situation of the national education for overseas compatriots and future tasks.

An appeal was read out.

Then, a performance was given by students of the university to be followed by a reception.

Present at the events were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, the rector of the university and researchers and students from Japan, China, Russia, the U.S. and Canada and compatriots.
