Atle Ranjan, secretary of the National Council of the Communist Party of India, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events such as a seminar, photo exhibition and film show to praise the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il from Nov. 15 to Dec. 17.
