The bulletin said in an article titled "Kim Jong Il, eternal sun of Songun" that Dec. 17, 2016 is the 5th anniversary of his demise.

It went on:

He victoriously advanced the cause of socialism by dint of the invincible Songun policy.

He held the banner of Songun more aloft to victoriously advance the revolution and construction despite the complicated international situation in the closing years of the last century.

After developing in depth the idea of attaching importance to military affairs fathered by President Kim Il Sung, he formulated the Songun politics as a basic political mode under socialism.

Under his energetic leadership the DPRK could display its dignity before the world as a satellite manufacturer and launcher and nuclear weapons state.

He always lives as the sun of Songun.
