It opened in Papua New Guinea on Nov. 13. It was divided into four groups, and brought together teams from 16 countries and regions including the DPRK, Spain, France, Germany and Mexico.

In Group A the DPRK football team played matches with the teams of Sweden, Brazil and Papua New Guinea.

The DPRK team beat its Swedish rival 2:0 in the first match of the group league matches and its Brazilian rival 4:2 in the second match.

It trounced its Papua New Guinea rival 7:1 on Sunday.

It took the first place in the group.

The DPRK team will play quarterfinals with the Spanish team from Group B on Nov. 24.
