S. Korean Opposition Parties Demand Park Geun Hye's Resignation

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- The Minju Party, the Kukmin Party and the Jongui Party, the opposition parties of south Korea, demanded the resignation of Park Geun Hye at the all-people actions held across south Korea including Seoul on Nov. 19, according to Yonhap News of south Korea. Prior to its participation in the candlelight rally in Kwanghwamun, the Minju Party held a rally for urging Park to step down at Chonggye Square. The representative of the party branded the "Saenuri Party" as an accomplice of the Park regime, adding we can no longer recognize the "Saenuri Party" whose lawmakers and representative put forward by Choe Sun Sil defend the "president" only. The former representative of the Minju Party and its lawmakers participated in the candlelight rallies of citizens held in Pusan, Seoul, Taegu, Kwangju and South Chungchong Province. The mayor of Seoul City called for opening a new era. The Kukmin Party held a rally at which it said the prosecution should arrest Park if she refuses to face the prosecution's investigation of her own accord. The chairman of the Emergency Measure Committee and concurrently floor leader of the Kukmin Party said the party should pool the efforts with the people to force Park to step down without fail. The party conducted a signature campaign for Park's resignation and made and distributed copies of literature to the sites of candlelight rallies across south Korea. The Jongui Party conducted a campaign for issuing a declaration on the situation for Park's resignation outside the Sejong Cultural House. The representative of the party attended a rally hosted by the Federation of Trade Unions and warned unless Park steps down till Nov. 26, she will be ousted by the efforts of the people. |
