Present there were officials, scientists, technicians, teachers and researchers of more than ten units including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, University of Sciences, the State Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Agricultural Science, the Academy of Medical Science and the Central Botanical Garden.

The presentation was aimed at rapidly developing bioengineering by boosting academic exchange in basic theories and applied sciences in biology and energetically promoting scientific researches to widely introduce the achievements made in the study of modern biology into agriculture, medical science and food industry.

More than 250 papers were presented to the presentation, divided into the panels of bioengineering, biology, botany, zoology and microbiology.

The participants presented achievements made in the researches to bring cell engineering, gene engineering and microorganism engineering to the world level and solve scientific and technical problems arising in different fields such as agricultural production, fruit farming, medical science, food industry, energy and environment protection.
