Swiss Organizations Laud Leader Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The Swiss preparatory committee for the 2017 Meeting Praising Great Persons of Mt. Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea issued a joint statement on November 20 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's inspection of Panmunjom.

Recalling that Generalissimo Kim Jong Il inspected Panmunjom on Nov. 24. 1996, the statement said:

He visited a forefront military post in the most dangerous hotspot of the Korean peninsula and showed his firm will for national reunification.

Looking at the monument inscribed with President Kim Il Sung's last signature on a document related to the issue of national reunification, he recalled the devoted efforts made by the President for the reunification of the country and stressed the need to hand down a reunified country to the posterity at any cost.

His historic inspection of Panmunjom, where U.S. admitted its defeat in the Korean War by signing the Armistice Agreement in 1953, dealt a telling blow at the arrogant U.S. imperialists once again.
