Briefing Held for Diplomatic Envoys Here
Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- The Foreign Ministry of the DPRK organized a briefing for diplomatic envoys here on Friday as regards the fact that a new "sanctions resolution" against the DPRK was cooked up at the UN Security Council on Nov. 30.

At the briefing Han Song Ryol, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, referred to the principled stand of the DPRK on the UNSC's "sanctions revolution" against the DPRK.

"Sanctions resolution" taking issue with the DPRK over its nuclear warhead explosion test held in September last was fabricated by the UNSC, he noted, saying the DPRK totally rejects it as another excess of authority and violation of sovereignty by the UNSC totally denying the sovereignty of the DPRK, going beyond its authority.

It is the U.S. that spawned the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula and it is also the U.S. that pushed the DPRK to have access nuclear weapons, he said, stressing that the successful nuclear warhead explosion test conducted by the DPRK in September last is a demonstration of the toughest will of its army and people that they are ready to react to the provocation of the enemies as it is part of the DPRK's practical countermeasure to the nuclear threat and sanctions of the U.S. and other hostile forces persistently pulling up the DPRK over its exercise of the right to self-defense.

The UNSC has no authority to prohibit a sovereign state from exercising its right to self-defense such as steps for bolstering defense capabilities including nuclear test and there is no provision in the UN Charter and any international law which stipulates that nuclear test poses threat to international peace and security, he said, adding:

That is why the UN Office has not given any answer to a letter of the DPRK's delegate to the UN who requested the UN secretary general to settle the legal contradiction of the "sanctions resolution" against the DPRK in May last though six months have passed.

It is the very wise and just option proven in practice that the DPRK has built a powerful deterrence while overcoming difficulties after shaping it as a state line to go nuclear. Obama and his lackeys are seriously mistaken if they think they can make the DPRK abandon its line of going nuclear or undermine its position as a nuclear power through their base sanctions and pressure. The "sanctions resolution" denying the DPRK's sovereignty and rights to existence and development will tough off its more powerful countermeasures for self-defense.

Diplomatic envoys said they have a clear viewpoint on the stand of the DPRK on the UNSC's "sanctions resolution".
