"Sinau", National Instrumental Music Heritage
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- "Sinau" is one of the instrumental music heritages of the Korean nation.

"Sinau" is a military music which had been widely executed by folk instrumental troupes and individuals in the period of the Feudal Joson Dynasty (1392-1910).

Koreans used to play "Sinau" with Thungso (a Korean bamboo flute) and bamboo fife.

Now, "Sinau" was re-created into different forms like chorus and orchestral music with national instruments, including drum, gong, Janggu, haegum (a Korean fiddle) and tanso (a Korean short bamboo flute), involved.

It gains popularity among people for its strong national coloring, dynamic melody and peculiar mood.
