Vadim Kudimin, director of the Russian Institute of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the fifth anniversary of his demise.
