Rodong Sinmun Blasts U.S. for Attempt to Rub Salt into Wound of Korean Americans
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- The House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress recently passed a "resolution" to ask the DPRK to allow Korean residents in the U.S. to meet their families and relatives in the DPRK and take "confidence-building measures" conducive to making peace settle on the Korean peninsula.

In this regard, U.S. lawmakers described the "resolution" as a "cornerstone for Korean residents in the U.S. to get reunited with their family members in the north," saying that it reflects the "desire" of U.S.-resident Koreans.

Commenting on the fact, Rodong Sinmun Sunday says that the passage of the "resolution" is nothing but a crafty trick to cover up the true colors of the U.S. as a criminal who caused the issue of the separated families and relatives and has prevented them from having reunions with their families and relatives, and to escalate the anti-DPRK "human rights" racket

It goes on:

The U.S. is not entitled to talk about the reunion of those separated families and relatives.

If the U.S. had neither blocked the implementation of the historic inter-Korean declarations nor incited the south Korean puppet group to the confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north in order to prevent the improvement of the inter-Korean ties, the wishes of the Koreans in the north, the south and abroad to see their own flesh and blood would have come true.

The passage of the "resolution" was prompted by the black-hearted intention of the U.S. to abuse this issue as a pretext for the smear campaign over the DPRK "human rights issue".

Such action as rubbing salt into the wound of the Korean residents in the U.S. in an attempt to attain its ambition of aggression for stifling the DPRK is an intolerable mockery and insult to the Korean nation.

The U.S. should abandon its anachronistic anti-DPRK policy and refrain from inciting the south Korean puppet group to the confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north, if it truly is interested in the reunion of separated families and relatives for U.S.-resident Koreans.
