Dolgachev, first secretary of the Maritime Territorial Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits on the 5th anniversary of his demise.
