Third Asia-Pacific Regional Ministerial Meeting on Transportation Held
Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The third Asia-Pacific regional ministerial meeting on transportation took place in Moscow on Dec. 8 and 9.

Present there were a DPRK delegation and other ministerial-level delegations from 40 other countries and over 400 delegates of the EU, international organizations and NGOs.

The chairman and vice-chairmen were elected at the meeting.

The Russian minister of Transport was elected chairman and head of the DPRK delegation Kang Jong Gwan, minister of Land and Maritime Transport, and the head of the Mongolian delegation vice-chairmen.

The meeting estimated the implementation of the second-phase action program for the development of the Asia regional transport (2012-2016) adopted at the 2nd ministerial meeting.

The head of the DPRK delegation referred to the achievements made in the land and marine transport under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, adding that the U.S. and its followers' sanctions against the DPRK have become a substantial stumbling block lying in the way of developing the sustained transport including the connection of the transportation system in the Asia-Pacific region.

The meeting adopted a document on the first-phase of new action program for connecting sustained transport system among regional countries (2017-2021) and a declaration on the meeting.
