L. Shukolinikov, chairman of the Permanent Standing Committee of the Belarus National Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to widely introduce the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and hold political and cultural events on the fifth anniversary of his demise.
