UNSC's "Sanctions Resolution" Rejected in Benin and Ukraine
Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Beninese and Ukrainian personages issued statements on Dec. 5 and 6 as regards the fact that the UN Security Council adopted a "sanctions resolution" against the DPRK over its nuclear warhead explosion test.

Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, said the recent "sanctions resolution", cooked up at the U.S. instigation, showed once again that the UNSC which should regard it as its mission to ensure sovereignty and right to existence of its member states has become a nominal body.

All member states of the UN, including non-aligned countries, ardently call for the prompt reform of the UNSC being abused by big powers as their political tool, he said, adding:

Now is the time for the U.S. to understand that its escalating sanctions caused the danger of reducing its mainland into a target of nuclear strike.

The chairperson of the Dnepropetrovsk Branch of the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea said:

The adoption of unilateral and meaningless resolution only stirs shame at the dignified international body.

The U.S. and its followers' vicious moves compelled the DPRK to develop its own nuclear deterrence.

Those interested in peace and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula should, first of all, strongly urge the U.S. to abandon its ambition for world domination, stop its annual war exercises on the peninsula, lift its mean sanctions on the DPRK and conclude a peace pact with the latter.
