The letter said that Kim Jong Il was a prominent leader and peerless patriot who had wisely led the party, the army and the people with his outstanding and tested leadership to bring about a great heyday in all fields of the revolution and construction and turned the country into a single-mindedly united political and ideological power and an invincible military power and thus put the dignity and might of the great Paektusan nation on the highest level in the nation's history.

He was the lodestar of national reunification who led all the fellow countrymen along the road of independent reunification and peace and prosperity with his noble patriotism and a veteran statesman in the world who made undying contributions to the human cause of independence, the letter noted.

It praised him as a distinguished leader and a guardian of the destiny of Chongryon and the Korean residents in Japan as he developed Chongryon into a pace-setter in the patriotic movement, a model of patriotism and loyalty and an exemplary overseas Koreans' organization.

The past five years were a glorious period in which the Koreans in Japan deeply enshrined the truth that his revolutionary idea and exploits will shine forever and the final victory of the movement of Koreans in Japan is certain along with the Juche cause as long as they are led by Kim Jong Un, it said.

The letter stressed that they would bring earlier a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan by thoroughly implementing the important teachings and instructions of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.
