V.A. Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK who is chairman of the Russian Committee for Remembering the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, said that it is their duty to honor the memory of Kim Jong Il, the eternal leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the closest friend of the Russian people.

He stressed that though Kim Jong Il passed away, he would remain forever in the minds of the world progressive people.

Nikolayev, secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of Soviet Union, said that Kim Jong Il is a great man as he proved the inevitability of victory of socialism through revolutionary practices in the hardest period when the imperialists got evermore pronounced in their moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and thus inspired the peoples aspiring after socialism with a fresh conviction and courage.

Revedev, chief of the Russian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK, said that with his Songun politics, Kim Jong Il firmly defended the DPRK from the imperialists' moves for aggression and provided a strong foundation for building an economic power.

Zhukova, first vice-chairwoman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, said:

Kim Jong Il worked heart and soul to develop the Russia-DPRK relations. He visited Russia several times in the new century.

The Russian people are deeply revering him.

A message to Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK, was adopted at the seminar.
