All Korean People Pay Silent Tribute to Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Korea is wrapped in the solemnest atmosphere today, the fifth anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

The national flags of the DPRK are hung at half-mast in the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il lie in state, the organs of the Party, armed forces, power, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, units of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, scientific, educational, literary and art, public health and media institutions, industrial establishments, farms and fishing villages of the country.

At noon, sirens blared at cities, towns, countryside and factories and all running engines and sailing ships gave whistles simultaneously.

All party members, service personnel and civilians simultaneously paid silent tribute towards the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, for three minutes.
