The completion of the waterway project in the western part of the country opened up a bright prospect for increasing the grain production free from drought in the fields of Haeju, Pyoksong, Ongjin and Kangryong areas.

The inaugural ceremony of the waterway took place on the spot on Monday.

Present there were Pak Pong Ju, Kwak Pom Gi and officials concerned and builders who took part in the first-stage project and officials and working people in the province.

A congratulatory message from the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was conveyed to the builders who completed the first-stage waterway project in South Hwanghae Province and their helpers.
