Women's Union Officials and Members Visit Birthplace of Kim Jong Suk
Hoeryong, December 24 (KCNA) -- Officials and members of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea in Pyongyang and provinces visited the birthplace of Kim Jong Suk, the anti-Japanese war heroine, on Saturday, her 99th birth anniversary.

The visitors laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statue of Kim Jong Suk at the foot of Osan Hill in Hoeryong City and paid tribute to her.

At her old home, they looked round relics preserved with care, being briefed on the fact that she was born into a patriotic and revolutionary family and grew up to be an ardent revolutionary.

The visit to the Hoeryong Revolutionary Museum reminded them of the undying feats performed by the woman commander of Mt. Paektu who had devotedly defended President Kim Il Sung, the destiny of the nation, politico-ideologically and at the risk of her life after embarking upon the road of the revolution in her early years.

They also went round Kim Ki Song Hoeryong Senior Secondary School, the Hoeryong Foodstuff-processing Factory, the Hoeryong Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory and dwelling houses newly built in the flood-hit areas in Hoeryong City.
