The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il.

Kim Chil Song, chairman of the Confederation, said at the service that Kim Jong Il was a great saint and the sun of the nation who firmly defended the sovereignty of the country and the wellbeing of the people with his outstanding Songun politics when the country was undergoing the biggest difficulties.

Speakers said that the ideology and undying feats of Kim Jong Il have been invariably carried forward and developed in depth as there is the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Praising highly the undying feats performed by Kim Jong Il for Korea's reunification, they evinced their pledges to take an active part in the movement for national reunification under the uplifted banner of the historic north-south joint declarations.

The chairman of the Confederation presented a letter to Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the anniversary.

A memorial service and an art performance were also held by the United Confederation of Koreans in Kyrgyzstan on the same day.
